HUMANS OF
AGRICULTURE

ABOUT

Humans of Agriculture is an organisation that is on a mission to discover more about our food and fibre system from the people involved in it. Through engaging with people from all walks of life, we seek to understand in a global context how our communities, what we eat and our culture shapes who we are.

With aspirations to share 10,000 stories of people in agriculture we will be getting our hands dirty as we get out and hear for ourselves how agriculture is shaping lives. In the process we will challenge them, inspire them and engage them.

Oli Le Lievre

"I've always been obsessed with agriculture. From a young age I longed for the holidays at my uncle's farm in South west Victoria, Australia. I suppose not growing up on a farm, it lit a fire in my belly that I had the opportunity to get out and really explore the industry. I've been fortunate to get exposure to quite a few areas of the industry; on farms in Australia and Canada, exporting Asparagus to Asia, in start-ups and now corporate agribusiness. The one thing that has been consistent is the people involved in agriculture have the most amazing stories, but they don't have a central platform that builds trust, authenticity and is in a language that is relatable across the supply chain. The need to create stronger connections and understanding of Agriculture has always been a passion of mine. Humans of Agriculture exists to bring authentic, unique and emotive stories that draw engagement and strengthen understanding. Every single one of us is a stakeholder in agriculture and we rely on a strong, resilient and sustainable food system to have the futures we desire."
